The National Archives of Finland reading room in Oulu open starting from Tuesday, 18 May

The Oulu reading room of the National Archives of Finland will be re-opened starting from 18 May. You can find the opening hours here.

To ensure readers are at a safe distance (2 metres) from each other, there is a limited number of seats in the Oulu reading room. Because of this, it is recommended that visitors inform the archives staff of their visit in advance by phone (+358 29 533 7230) or email ( As the message subject, please use “Booking for the reading room / Oulu”.

To decrease close contacts, please order the material you need in advance through the Astia online service. The planned date of the visit can be indicated in the additional information for the order. If the material cannot be ordered through the online service, please contact the Oulu reading room personnel to agree on ordering and delivering the material (tel. +358 29 533 7230).

According to the regional recommendations for North Ostrobothnia, a face mask should be used everywhere where close contacts occur. Safe distances and instructions concerning hygiene must also be observed.

The situation may change rapidly according to the orders of the health authorities. Please check the updated information on opening times in advance!
